OpenInfra Day at the Magyar Telekom Headquarters

The 2024 OpenInfra Days Europe conference covered several important topics in the world of open-source infrastructure. OpenInfra and OpenStack were discussed as foundational systems for building and managing cloud environments. Denominator and Zookeeper tools were highlighted as reliable solutions for configuration management and service coordination.

The conference placed significant emphasis on Terraform and Terraform-boot technologies, which aid in automating infrastructure, while Kafka and Xpanse tools were focused on real-time processing of large volumes of data.

Additionally, after introducing the MAAS automates hardware and Juju automates automation tools, the spotlight shifted to storage solutions like MicroCeph and Sunbeam. AWX was featured for its role in automating continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes, while Qemu and KVM were discussed as tools supporting hardware virtualization and graphical acceleration.

There were also discussions on the MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) metric, AI monitoring systems that facilitate automated monitoring, and Kata Containers, which offer a more secure form of containerization. The Openshift-OpenStack integrations aimed at simplifying the running of containerized environments were also covered. Finally, the topic of AI weather forecast focused on improving weather predictions through artificial intelligence.
